Yes! Most therapists will give you the option of connecting via our secure telehealth powered by Zoom, or in-person therapy sessions. You will see this reflected on each therapist’s individual profiles. If you are looking for a licensed therapist near you, you have the option to add your zip code in your questionnaire.

Matching

We believe a successful client-therapist relationship starts with chemistry. We match you with vetted therapist options based on the needs and preferences requested in your questionnaire, and then empower you to choose your best therapist match after completing your free “intro calls”.

An intro call is an opportunity for you and the therapist to speak before committing to a first session. Both you and the therapist are looking to make sure you’re the right fit for one another. This is your time to share more about what you’d like to focus on and accomplish through your sessions. It’s absolutely appropriate for you to ask the therapist questions about their practice and style, we encourage this! Discussions regarding the therapist's rate should also take place during this time.

Intro calls are complimentary, approximately 15-20 min long, and can be scheduled with as many therapists as you’d like.

Cost

It is free to create an account, match with therapists and view all Digital Discussions on our platform.

You will only pay for your 1:1 therapy sessions, at the rate your chosen therapist has provided. The average cost of therapy on Frame is $75-$250.

***Ask your therapist about their sliding scale structure!

Sliding scale is a business model that many therapists use as a way to provide their services at different price points. Generally, therapists who work on a sliding scale offer a lower rate for appointment times that are not peak hours. You can ask your therapist about their specific sliding scale offerings during your intro call, or through our secure chat feature.

Therapists are qualified, trained professionals who provide clinical services during your session as well as additional dedicated work outside of your session time. Outside of your sessions, therapists develop your treatment plans, strategize ways to optimize sessions, and consult with other professionals to gather additional educational resources. In accordance with the law, they’re also required to maintain confidential treatment records, write notes and appropriate documentation for every client they treat.

We ask for your credit card information so your therapist doesn’t have to. We want the start of your therapy experience to be seamless, stress-free, and all about connection.

Your credit card information will be securely stored using HIPAA compliant payment processing through Stripe. You will only be charged upon completion of each session, or pending any additional fees from your therapist due to their no-show or late cancellation policy.

Frame’s payment processing supports all major debit, credit, HSA or FSA cards.

Insurance

There are some therapists that take insurance, however the majority of private practice therapists do not take insurance (both on Frame, and in general). Many therapists choose to opt out of the insurance system to have more control and autonomy over their practice.

If you are looking to match with therapists based on your insurance, you can filter by your network in our directory. If you have a PPO plan with out-of-network benefits, you will be eligible to receive complete or partial reimbursement for the session fees.

If your therapist is not in-network or contracted with your insurance company, then you have several options. If you have out-of-network benefits in your insurance plan, you can pay out of pocket and get reimbursed by your insurance company. Frame will provide you with guidance and resources on how to submit claims to your insurance for reimbursement for session fees.

  1. Request a “superbill” from your therapist. This is different from a receipt and has additional information necessary for the insurance claim including a diagnosis code and a therapist EIN.
  2. Download the Reimbursify app to easily submit your claim.
  3. Upload the superbill that your therapist provided to you.
  4. If your claim is accepted, you will receive a check in the mail 2-4 weeks after submission.

We’ve built our algorithm to prioritize matching you with the top therapists who will best meet your needs. If you prefer to only use insurance to pay for your therapist sessions, you have the option to filter therapists in our directory. If you have a PPO plan with out-of-network benefits, you will be eligible to receive complete or partial reimbursement for the session fees.

In-Network:

  • The therapist is contracted with your insurance company or they have applied and been "approved" by your insurance company.
  • You will owe a "copay" at the time of your session. This can range between $15-85 (sometimes more or less). Your insurance company will pay your therapist the rest of what the insurance company deems a reasonable rate for the service provided.
  • Example: If a session is worth $100 according to the insurance company and your copay is $45, you pay your therapist $45 at the time of each session. The insurance company would pay $55 to the therapist after the therapist submits paperwork.

Out-Of-Network

  • Out of Network implies that the therapist is not "in-network" or contracted with your insurance company. The majority of the therapists in private practice are not in-network or contracted with multiple insurance companies.
  • However, insurance companies recognize that they do not work with every single therapist and cannot accommodate the demand for therapy. That is why many insurance plans include out-of-network benefits and the insurance company will reimburse you for all or a portion of the session fee that you pay to the therapist.
  • To submit an out-of-network insurance claim, you will need to request a superbill from your therapist to include with the claim form.

Many private health insurance plans provide some level of out-of-network reimbursement. If you see the terms “POS”, “PPO” or “out-of network” on your insurance card then you are likely eligible. If you see “HMO”, “Medicare” or “Medicaid” then you probably do not. Check with your insurance company or HR rep to be sure.
